Controls Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in plant-based raw materials and advanced automation solutions, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Maintenance & Reliability department supporting site-wide control and automation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title:Controls Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Pay Range:$80,000 - $100,000

What's the Job?

• Design and optimize PLC logic to enhance manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams to inform system design and integration.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues.
• Lead root cause investigations for persistent problems and implement effective, permanent solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for site-wide control and automation projects, supporting downtime events with expert controls knowledge.
  
  

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC systems, preferably with Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Experience working with Wonderware System Platform and Rockwell Suite of Software, including Studio 5000 / RS Logix 5000 and Factory Talk.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control diagrams, and advanced diagnostic techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
