Electrical Project Manager – Electrical Contractor (Not a GC Role)

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead complex commercial electrical projects—primarily data centers and mission-critical facilities—from concept through completion. You’ll be responsible for schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction while driving QSP excellence and mentoring the next generation of project leaders.

What You’ll Do

• Own full project lifecycle execution for commercial and hyperscale electrical projects, from preconstruction handoff through final closeout
• Serve as the client contact, maintaining strong relationships with owners, GCs, and key stakeholders
• Participate in estimate handoff and transition meetings to fully understand scope, risk, and strategy
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, work plans, and cost forecasts aligned with field execution
• Manage procurement of major materials and equipment, including long-lead items
• Direct subcontractors and internal field teams to ensure safe, productive, and high-quality installation
• Manage all project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and closeout packages
• Accurately track job costs, labor productivity, and cash flow; proactively address variances
• Lead internal and external project meetings and drive accountability for deliverables
• Partner closely with Operations, Safety, Estimating, and Accounting to ensure seamless project execution
• Support commissioning, turnover, and final cost reconciliation
• Apply lessons learned and continuously improve project execution processes

What You’ll Need

• 5 years of experience in electrical contracting, with direct Project Manager responsibility
• Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects; hyperscale or mission-critical experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, specifications, and construction means and methods
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
• Experience processing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation
• Comfort working both in the office and on active construction sites
• Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and decision-making ability
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management and scheduling software preferred
• High level of integrity, organization, and accountability

Physical Requirements

While much of the work is performed in an office setting, this position requires regular visits to active construction sites. The employee must be able to: Stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain on active job sites. Occasionally lift or move materials up to 25 pounds. Work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Maintain visual acuity to read blueprints, specifications, and computer screens. Communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone.
