About the Role

We’re looking for a Construction Safety Professional to support electrical construction projects across the Maryland, Virginia, and DC region. This role works closely with field leadership, project management, clients, and subcontractors to ensure Quality, Safety, and Productivity (QSP) are embedded in every phase of construction.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, field-oriented safety professional with strong communication skills and a practical approach to hazard recognition and risk mitigation. This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance, strengthening safety culture, and supporting safe project execution across multiple active job sites.

What You’ll Do

· Conduct and document routine safety audits and inspections of active construction sites.

· Walk job sites alongside foremen, lead electricians, and site safety personnel to identify hazards and verify compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.

· Train and qualify employees on safe work practices and specialized construction equipment, including aerial work platforms, forklifts, earth-moving equipment, confined space entry, fall protection, and scaffolding.

· Attend and assess daily pre-task planning meetings, safety meetings, and special safety events to evaluate the effectiveness of job planning and safety communication.

· Provide real-time feedback, guidance, and constructive coaching to field personnel to reinforce safe behaviors and continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with foremen, general foremen, project managers, and company leadership to communicate site-specific safety needs, procedures, and expectations.

· Support a top-down safety approach by identifying needs for training, equipment, materials, and corrective actions.

· Perform job hazard analyses and work assessments for complex or high-risk tasks, recommending the safest and most practical methods for execution.

· Respond to evolving field conditions and support crews when non-routine or higher-risk scenarios arise.

· Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, superintendents, and safety professionals to maintain open communication and alignment on site safety expectations.

· Participate in site safety committees, joint safety walks, and client-led safety initiatives as required.

· Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses, including documentation, corrective actions, and follow-up to prevent recurrence.

· Provide first aid/CPR support when needed and assist with post-incident response and reporting.

· Support nurse case management by ensuring injured employees receive timely and appropriate medical care.

· Inspect, maintain, and distribute specialized safety equipment to field personnel.

· Serve as an active member of the company safety committee and contribute to safety program improvement.

What You Should Know

· 3 years of experience in construction safety or related field preferred; electrical construction experience strongly preferred.

· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements.

· Experience conducting safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.

· Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, management, clients, and external partners.

· Comfort working independently across multiple active job sites in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Work Environment

This position operates primarily on active construction sites and in jobsite trailers. You’ll be regularly exposed to construction conditions including moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, electrical environments, vibration, and elevated noise levels.
