The Houston office of an elite international law firm is seeking an associate to join its nationally recognized Energy practice group. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and international energy transactions at a leading law firm, advising clients across a broad range of complex matters within the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex domestic and international energy transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project development, and project finance.
- Support transactions involving real estate, project contracts, and other energy-related transactional matters across multiple sectors.
- Assist with upstream and midstream M&A transactions, as required.
- Contribute to matters involving data center and power project contracts, as well as tax equity finance transactions where applicable.
- Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, conduct legal research, and provide strategic legal advice throughout all stages of complex energy transactions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 2–4 years of experience handling complex domestic and/or international energy transactions.
- Excellent academic credentials and strong professional references.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, project development, project finance, real estate, project contracts, and related transactional matters across the energy sector.
- Experience with upstream and midstream M&A, data center and power project contracts, and tax equity finance transactions is a plus.
- Outstanding analytical, drafting, negotiation, and oral communication skills.
