An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Antitrust & Competition lawyer to join a leading international law firm's highly regarded Washington, DC practice at Counsel level. This team advises a diverse client base on the full spectrum of U.S. and global competition law matters, including government investigations, merger clearance, litigation, compliance, and strategic counseling.
The practice regularly represents clients before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission in complex and high-profile matters. Their clients operate across a broad range of industries, including technology, healthcare, life sciences, financial services, energy, and private equity.
This position is ideal for a senior attorney with significant antitrust experience gained at a leading law firm, the DOJ, or the FTC, who is looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and market-leading team.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a broad range of U.S. and international antitrust and competition law matters.
- Represent clients in DOJ and FTC investigations, civil and criminal enforcement actions, and regulatory proceedings.
- Manage and advise on merger review and clearance matters.
- Handle antitrust litigation and complex competition-related disputes.
- Provide strategic antitrust counseling, compliance advice, and risk assessments.
- Advise clients on cross-border competition issues and multijurisdictional investigations.
- Work closely with clients across industries including technology, healthcare, life sciences, financial services, energy, and private equity.
- Supervise junior attorneys and contribute to the development of the wider practice.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with exceptional academic credentials.
- Admission to practice law in the United States, or ability to obtain admission as required.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in antitrust and competition law.
- Experience gained at an Am Law 100 firm and/or the DOJ or FTC.
- Strong background in government investigations, merger reviews, antitrust counseling, or competition litigation.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage complex matters and maintain strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
