Transactional Antitrust Associate Attorney – Junior to Senior
Direct Counsel is seeking a Transactional Antitrust Associate Attorney to join a premier, nationally recognized law firm with a rapidly growing Antitrust and Competition practice. This opportunity is available in New York, NY or Washington, D.C.
Position Overview
The firm is seeking attorneys across junior through senior levels with experience in antitrust and competition law, particularly in connection with transactional matters, government investigations, and merger enforcement. The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on antitrust risks arising from corporate transactions and navigating matters before federal and state enforcement authorities.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on transactional antitrust risks, including merger review and competition-related issues.
- Represent clients in government antitrust investigations and merger enforcement actions.
- Handle matters involving Second Requests and other government information requests.
- Counsel clients regarding antitrust compliance and competition law considerations.
- Represent clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and state Attorneys General.
- Assist with the antitrust aspects of complex M&A and other strategic transactions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis regarding federal and state antitrust laws and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple practice areas on sophisticated transactional and regulatory matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to, or eligibility for admission to, the Bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate is located.
- Junior through senior-level attorneys with relevant antitrust and competition law experience will be considered.
- Experience with government antitrust investigations and merger enforcement actions, including Second Requests.
- Experience counseling clients on transactional antitrust risk and compliance.
- Experience interacting with or representing clients before the DOJ, FTC, and/or state Attorneys General.
- Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage sophisticated matters and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Compensation
$235,000 – $460,000 annually, commensurate with experience and other relevant factors.
