Direct Counsel is seeking an Antitrust Associate to join a premier Antitrust & Competition practice in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have antitrust experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and a desire to work on high-profile civil, regulatory, and criminal antitrust matters.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a broad range of antitrust and competition matters
- Advise clients in:
- Civil antitrust litigation
- DOJ and FTC investigations
- Civil conduct investigations
- Criminal antitrust enforcement matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare strategic analyses on complex competition issues
- Draft:
- Motions
- Briefs
- Legal memoranda
- Investigative submissions
- Client advisories
- Assist with government investigations, regulatory responses, and litigation strategy
- Manage discovery, witness preparation, and fact development
- Collaborate with clients, economists, industry experts, and regulatory authorities
- Participate in all phases of litigation and enforcement proceedings
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Law school class years 2019–2023
- 2–6 years of relevant antitrust experience
- Strong substantive knowledge of antitrust and competition law
- Experience with:
- Antitrust litigation
- Government investigations
- Regulatory enforcement matters
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Outstanding oral communication and advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment
- Top academic credentials
Preferred Experience
- DOJ or FTC investigations
- Prior government service with the DOJ or FTC
- Civil conduct investigations
- Criminal antitrust enforcement matters
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $235,000 – $390,000
