Government Contracts Counsel
Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Government Contracts Counsel with 5–8 years of post-JD experience to join its sophisticated Defense, National Security & Government Contracts practice in Washington, DC.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience advising clients on federal procurement matters, bid protests, contract disputes, investigations, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on federal government contracts and procurement matters.
- Handle bid protests and matters under the Contract Disputes Act (CDA).
- Counsel clients regarding the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement requirements.
- Conduct and assist with internal investigations and related government contracts matters.
- Research complex legal and regulatory issues and provide strategic advice.
- Draft and review pleadings, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of post-JD experience, excluding judicial clerkships.
- Demonstrated experience in government contracts law.
- Experience with bid protests, CDA matters, internal investigations, and federal procurement issues.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission and membership in good standing, or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
