Intellectual Property Litigation Associate

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of post-JD experience to join its sophisticated IP Litigation practice. Positions are available in Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IP litigator to handle complex patent disputes and work alongside a highly skilled team on sophisticated matters.

Responsibilities

• Take and defend depositions and handle motion practice.
• Conduct written and expert discovery.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Participate in complex patent litigation and develop case strategy.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients on sophisticated IP disputes.
• Experience with Inter Partes Review (IPR) and/or ITC proceedings is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of post-JD experience in intellectual property litigation.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Experience with depositions, discovery, expert discovery, pleadings, and motion practice.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering preferred.
• Equivalent industry experience in these technical disciplines is a plus.
• Active bar admission and membership in good standing in the jurisdiction where the attorney will be based.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
