Role Material Handler Location: Milpitas California 95035Duration: 12 MonthsJOB DESCRIPTIONHours M–F; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PMRequirements Must be a high school graduate or have a GED 5 years experience Extension is possibleGeneral Summary Material Handler III is responsible for performing administrative and physical tasks involved in manufacturing, packaging, shipping, receiving, and staging (raw, work-in-process, and finished goods) for the distribution center. Uses ERP systems requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, and methods of movement of materials. May prepare goods for final shipment. May prepare, coordinate, and execute documentation for final shipment for domestic and international shipments. Will handle material either inbound or outbound based on business needs. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPallet / Case Picking • Processing customer orders including but not limited to scanning bar codes, picking, and labeling boxes • Pick, pack, and process orders • Processing orders through RF technology • Maintains an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP • Complete all necessary RF device training to obtain the necessary profiles • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packagingPallet Build • Palletizing to include scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets • Re-palletizing products for shipment • May be responsible for dock manifest duties which include scanning completed pallets and running the shrink wrapper • May be required to transport pallets by MHE • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packagingInbound / Outbound / Inventory Movement • Uses ERP systems requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, and methods of movement of materials • May prepare goods for final shipment • May prepare, coordinate, and execute documentation for final shipment for domestic and international • Will handle material either inbound or outbound based on business needs • Inbound/Outbound shipments are to be loaded/unloaded utilizing the WMS • Ensure every effort is made to load/off-load pallets in a manner that promotes safety and prevents damage • Completes all assigned duties in a timely manner in accordance with department standards and procedures • Locates and retrieves products and replenishes picking locations • Maintains an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions • Complete all necessary RF device training to obtain the necessary profiles • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP • Must follow all safety instructions to maintain safe working conditions and proper operating practices • May be required to perform other duties as assigned • May train and implement functions in SAP • Required to maintain current status in C2C training modules • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packagingMaterial Handling Equipment • Material handling equipment must be operated in a safe manner by designated associates only • All damage and/or maintenance issues must be reported immediately • Equipment must be kept neat and orderly in compliance with established procedures • Must be able to maintain equipment certification at all timesSafety and Security • Perform job activities in a safe and reasonable manner in accordance with safety requirements • Assist in maintaining warehouse security and promote a safe environment • Report all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards, or conditions immediately • Report any suspicious persons or activityQuality • Understand organizational quality goalsSanitation and Housekeeping • Maintain a clean and professional image • Follow facility cleanliness guidelines • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all timesHazmat Training • May be provided Hazmat training including general awareness, function-specific, security awareness, security plan, and safety trainingCross-Training • Become knowledgeable in other warehouse positions • Assist as required and act as backup during absences or vacationsJob Requirements • High School diploma, GED, or 3 years of relevant experience required • Experience with MHE including Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counter Balance (slip and clamp), and Dock Stocker • Forklift Certification required • Good verbal communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents • Ability to work well with others • Ability to work under minimal supervision • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner • Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment • Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills • General distribution knowledge • Exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation • Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilitiesPhysical Demands The physical demands described represent those required to successfully perform essential job functions.
