What you will be able to do: In this exciting position, you’ll play a key role in the creation of next-generation electric vehicle propulsion systems. You will be responsible for the validation and reliability testing of EV traction inverters and related sub-components. Your contributions will directly support development of HV power electronics for current and future model electrified powertrains. As a phenomenal teammate, you will build impact by collaborating across the Electrified Powertrain Engineering organization and with key work partners throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Test Development & Execution:
o Configure and operate specialized test equipment, including high voltage (HV) test cells, battery simulators, 3-phase loads, and environmental chambers.
o Update test sequence programs in AVL and NI LabVIEW.
o Set up and operate data acquisition systems (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers) to capture critical test parameters.
o Prepare and flash microcontroller software and calibrations for devices under test (DUTs).
o Perform testing in strict accordance with documented procedures and safety protocols.
· Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Process and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of results.
o Prepare and present detailed test reports to multi-functional teams and leadership.
· Lab Operations & Management:
o Provide technical direction and work instructions to lab technicians for test setup and execution.
o Coordinate and lead recurring test scheduling and status review meetings.
o Lead the procurement of new equipment, including defining requirements, vendor interaction, and initiating purchase requests.
o Manage the design and procurement of test fixtures, collaborating with CAD designers and fabrication shops.
o Interface with facility engineering for test cell repairs, maintenance, calibration, and installation activities.
· Collaboration & Support:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define equipment and facility resource needs, leading lab upgrade and expansion projects.
o Support lab safety initiatives and promote safe testing practices.
o Contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
Salary : $43 - $45
