Join our innovative engineering team developing the next generation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and advanced electronic hardware. We are seeking experienced engineers for two critical roles—Aeromechanical Design Engineer III and Electrical Engineer III—to help shape the future of aerospace technology.
Location: Lawrence, Kansas - 100% onsite
Schedule: 9x80 (~every other Friday off)
Salary: $100,000-$130,000/year
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of relevant engineering experience (aerospace, UAS, or electronic hardware).
Aeromechanical Design Engineer III:
- Design structural components, electro-mechanical systems, payloads, ground equipment, launching systems, and flight control actuator integration.
- Perform thermal analysis, prototype hardware development, and design tooling/fixtures.
- Use CAD tools (SolidWorks), simulation tools (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS), and rapid prototyping (3D printing).
- Develop manufacturing drawings and bills of materials per industry standards.
- Support design reviews, project planning, and production with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Expertise in design, analysis, and problem-solving (mechanics, thermodynamics, structural dynamics).
- Proficient in SolidWorks, GD&T, ASME standards; experienced with PLM tools and MATLAB.
- Skilled in part/assembly design, testing, fabrication, and 3D printing.
- Knowledge of FEA, thermal, aerodynamics; UAV and electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration; thrives in fast-paced environments.
Electrical Engineer III:
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry for advanced hardware systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic systems into larger platforms.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic hardware.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
- Skilled in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Experience in RF, embedded control, FPGA, and power electronics (motors, batteries: lead acid, NiMH, Li-ion)
- Competent in troubleshooting complex systems
- Familiar with industry protocols: LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, math, physics, and material properties
