Location: Hybrid in Oakland, CA

Duration: 12 month contract

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global partners with a large local utility company and looking for Senior-Level Project Engineer to resolves complex problems using standard solutions. Independently plans work to meet objectives as well as support design work and be responsible for converting conceptual ideas into practical, functional designs that meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. The Senior-Level Engineer is accountable for leading the engineering and design of highly complex projects. This position applies extensive knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, and practices to resolve complex problems with minimal direction. The role provides leadership, coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge transfer to technical employees and teams. Additional responsibilities include delivering presentations, leading team meetings, and interpreting industry practices and codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages large, complex projects and performs advanced engineering analyses, studies, and conceptual designs.

• Leads, coaches, and mentors technical employees and teams on technical issues

. • Assists in finalizing contract specifications and evaluating technical aspects of project bids

. • Provides support to other departments on land, permitting, and legal matters.

• Delivers presentations and facilitates knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Represents the company in interactions with contractors, vendors, and public agencies.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited U.S. program or equivalent international program.

• Active California PE license required for Civil Engineers; preferred for other disciplines.

• Minimum of eight years of cumulative engineering and design experience.

• Demonstrated mastery of Associate and Journey-Level Engineer duties and ability to perform Senior-Level responsibilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale, high-budget projects independently.

• Strong presentation and communication skills, including technical knowledge transfer.

• Ability to lead engineering teams, including external contractors.

• Skilled in integrating information from diverse sources and completing assignments of broad scope and complexity.

Compensation: $60.00-75.00/HR
