JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support complex accounting activities related to the accurate and timely close of the general ledger. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, variance analysis, technical accounting research, and forecasting while partnering cross-functionally across the business.
Key Responsibilities • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. • Analyze financial results and provide clear variance explanations for revenue and expense accounts. • Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos to document conclusions and recommendations. • Ensure general ledger balances are materially accurate and compliant with GAAP, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. • Support the forecasting and strategic outlook process, including understanding key forecast components and business drivers. • Partner cross-functionally with business and finance teams to gather information, understand financial impacts, and support forecasting activities. • Assist with fixed assets, lease/contract reviews, budget variance analysis, and other complex accounting activities as needed. • Lead or contribute to process improvement, compliance, and accounting-related initiatives. • Provide guidance and review work completed by more junior accounting professionals.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline. • 5 years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting within public accounting or a large corporate environment. • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting. • Ability to conduct technical accounting research and document findings through accounting memos. • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and financial applications. • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.
