Project Engineer

Title: Project Engineer

Duration: Permanent

Location: IN 46312

Salary: $100K-$130K/yr

Travel: Frequent domestic travel to sites; occasional extended stays.

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Electrical).
• Minimum 5 years in heavy industry.
• Knowledge of FEL engineering, capital projects, project controls, scheduling, and risk analysis.
• Strong analytical skills (data mining, trending, modeling) and familiarity with PI systems, Maximo, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.

• PMP certification
• Prior project development experience

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review project documentation (drawings, specifications, process data, as-built records).
• Develop scope of work per FEL/STEP process.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, QA/QC, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, EPA).
• Gather and analyze cost data (engineering, equipment, construction, commissioning, owner costs).
• Coordinate with Quality Manager for project reviews and staffing.
• Execute select plant projects, including contractor selection, bid processes, and oversight of RFIs/NCRs.
• Provide field engineering support during implementation, ensuring safety compliance and quality control.
• Communicate project progress to site staff and senior management.
• Facilitate key meetings (FEL gate reviews, CAPEX forecasts, post audits).
• Support multiple projects across various stages and locations.
• Troubleshoot plant issues related to capital projects.
• Develop business cases and perform economic analyses.
• Lead multi-discipline teams to deliver FEL project requirements on schedule.
• Prepare FEL documentation and management presentations.
• Support project execution, start-up, safety reviews, and lessons learned.
