Pay Rate: $25-$30 Hourly Based on Experience

A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join their team in the Orlando, Florida area. This individual will support engineering and construction standards efforts, playing a key role in developing drawings, specification books, and technical documentation. The position is fully onsite (5 days/week) with occasional client interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings supporting engineering and construction standards
- Assist in creating and maintaining construction specification books and technical documentation
- Work closely with a Principal Engineer to translate requirements into standardized drawings and materials
- Interpret engineering direction and produce clear, organized CAD deliverables
- Support permitting efforts by preparing plan drawings for submission to local jurisdictions
- Read, interpret, and replicate roadway, civil site, and construction plans
- Coordinate with internal teams and occasionally meet with clients to clarify scope and requirements
- Ensure all drawings and documentation align with established standards and guidelines
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of professional CAD drafting experience (not entry-level)
- Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD
- CAD Certification required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and specifications
- Experience supporting utilities, power distribution, or civil/site development projects
