Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support a marine and logistics company based out of Baton Rouge, LA. This role is onsite 5 days per week and will be responsible for processing accounts payable invoices, including coding, verifying documentation, and ensuring accuracy and proper approvals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing vendor communications, resolving invoice discrepancies, preparing and executing check runs, and supporting payment processes. The position will also handle cash application, deposit processing, and reconciliation of daily cash activity, while assisting with month-end close and audit requests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
- Experience processing invoices, including coding, verification, and GL accuracy
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Associate degree in Accounting or related
- Experience in transportation, marine, or logistics industry
- Exposure to cash application, deposits, and reconciliations
- Experience supporting month-end close or audit processes
- Familiarity with vendor communication and resolving payment discrepancies
Compensation:
$50,000-$55,000 per year annual salary.
