Overview:
This technician would provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Shifts:
Front half – Sun – Wednesday – 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM EDT
Back half – Wed – Sat - 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM EDT (***)
Day-to-Day:
- The installation and integration of cabinets, PDU's and peripherals (power cables, extensions, etc.)
- The installation of servers, storage devices, network gear and other hardware
- Performing fiber and cable assembly and installation and testing
- Troubleshooting hardware failures
- Performing hardware upgrades
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Understands and manages problems utilizing defined problem and change management policies and procedures
- Conducts periodic inspections of assigned data centers to ensure production and data center logistic policies are being met
- Responsible for rack assignments, assembly, installations and moves Plans, organizes, and coordinates ongoing data center installations and modifications to meet current and future timelines/demands
- Responsible for capturing and reporting metrics to leadership Responsible for controlling data center inventory
- Communicates provisions of data center policies to the corporation and facilitates customer understanding of processes and procedures
- Plans and coordinates with facilities to ensure appropriate data center capacity/scalability
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies a specialty background on more than one system
- Operates one or more complex computer systems and all associated peripheral equipment
- Monitors performance of systems utilizing software support tools
- Interfaces with customers and appropriate support groups to resolve complex issues
- Coordinates and performs the installation of servers and storage equipment within the Data Center; performs preventive and remedial maintenance of servers and storage equipment
- Observe activities within the area, monitoring the effectiveness of all policies and procedures with the intent of making improvements in efficiency and responsiveness within the data center
- Interface with cross-functional groups to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems
- Assist third party support in determining potential system configuration conflicts
- Assume control of time-critical calls or issues and escalate as required
- Document all data center activities using the infrastructure tools
- Maintain a working knowledge of all documented response center procedures; adhere to administrative policies and escalation procedures
Compensation:
$19/hr to 25/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Salary : $19 - $25
