Summary:
The Data Center Install Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting hardware infrastructure within data centers. This role ensures equipment is deployed to standards, properly connected, documented, and ready for operational use.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and rack servers, network switches, storage devices, and other data center hardware.
- Run, label, and terminate fiber and copper cabling following structured cabling standards.
- Perform hardware configuration, equipment imaging, and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate asset tracking, documentation, and change records.
- Ensure power, cooling, and space requirements are met prior to installation.
- Follow data center safety procedures, security protocols, and access policies.
