BIM Modeler

Must Haves:

• 3 years of experience in BIM modeling, CAD, or document control support.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, with proficiency in 2D/3D tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor).
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and document management systems.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, Smart P&ID tools (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D) or Autodesk CDE platforms (e.g., BIM 360)

Pluses:

• 5 years professional experience in the AEC industry, with at least 3 years in a BIM coordination or specialist role.
• Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks for modeling, clash detection and coordination.

Job Description:

The BIM Modeler /Services Technician will play a crucial role in BIM/CAD Support. Process turned-over models and drawings, ensuring proper structure, metadata, and compliance with our project standards. Update AutoCAD files as needed. Help Assign equipment tag numbers, drawing numbers and line numbers. This role is ideal for someone early in their BIM career, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and eager to build deep technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in cleaning, auditing, and converting P&IDs and models to align with project standards.
• Support updating CAD/Model files based on engineering redlines (red-to-black).
• Organize and refine 3D model geometry, focusing on Architectural, MEP, or complex equipment.
• Apply naming conventions, metadata tagging, and standard structuring in the CDE.
• Link documents, models, and tags to ensure traceability and data consistency.
• Maintain file versions, uploads, and drawing references across platforms to meet project deadlines and accessibility needs.
• Perform documentation and cleanup tasks to support project deliverables and cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, operations).
• Assist in generating reports or dashboards for model and P&ID status tracking.
• Support clash detection or model coordination using tools like Navisworks.
• Prepare documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Support data entry and validation for P&ID tags, line lists, or asset databases.
• Assist in managing the assignment of equipment tags, line and drawing numbers.
