Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support public records requests and legal processes. This role involves reviewing records, applying state laws, preparing documents, and coordinating with legal teams and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and respond to public records requests within deadlines
Review and redact law enforcement records per regulations
Conduct legal research (statutes, codes, case law)
Prepare legal documents for attorney review
Support subpoenas and discovery requests
Maintain records and case files
Communicate with internal teams and the public
Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies OR relevant certification/experience
2 years of paralegal or legal experience (preferred)
Knowledge of legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw) is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines
Salary : $15 - $20
