We are seeking a Desktop Support Consultant to provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support across multiple locations. This role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service while resolving hardware, software, network, and device-related issues in accordance with ITIL best practices.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in varied environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software
- Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft products
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity issues
- Deploy and support mobile devices (tablets, smartphones)
- Set up and maintain point-of-sale systems including credit card machines, receipt printers, and cash drawers
- Support network and local printers
- Ensure devices are updated, secure, and compliant with policies
- Provide one-on-one user support and basic training
- Diagnose issues, perform repairs, or escalate when required
- Maintain accurate equipment and asset inventory
- Support conference room audio/visual equipment
- Provide onsite support for special events, including setup and teardown (may require off-hours support)
- Manage incidents and requests using a ticketing system
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Experience in desktop support or technical support roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft products
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices
- Experience with computer imaging, drivers, updates, and system configurations
- Knowledge of printer and peripheral support
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to lift and transport computer equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be a Wisconsin resident (no relocation)
