Environmental Engineer (Hybrid)
Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Position: Full-time, Mon – Fri , 8-hour shifts
Hybrid: 2 days in the office, 3 days home based
A growing consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join its Environmental Compliance team. The primary focus of this role is environmental compliance and remediation, supporting clients across a range of regulatory and environmental management challenges. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys applying technical expertise to solve complex environmental and regulatory issues while delivering practical, results-driven solutions. You will support industrial and municipal clients in meeting regulatory requirements related to air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management, while also contributing to remediation-related assessments and corrective actions. What You’ll Do
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations and apply them to client operations. Prepare and submit compliance reports including Tier II, TRI, AIMs, 26R, hazardous waste, annual combustion, and air emissions filings.
Permitting and Environmental Management
Manage environmental permits across air, stormwater, wastewater, waste, and industrial pretreatment programs. Maintain compliance calendars and ensure all reporting deadlines and regulatory obligations are met.
Audits, Compliance & Remediation Support
Conduct compliance audits to identify risks, gaps, and potential liabilities. Support clients during inspections and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions, including remediation-focused recommendations where required.
Technical Support and Analysis
Perform air emissions calculations, oversee stormwater sampling and data collection, and provide guidance on waste management practices. Contribute to environmental assessments that may support remediation planning and compliance strategy. Deliver clear technical advice to both clients and internal teams.
Client Engagement
Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and laboratories to support compliance and remediation efforts. Contribute to proposals and presentations as part of ongoing business development.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, and/or remediation support
- Strong understanding of air, water, and waste regulations
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental compliance tools
Preferred:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Method 9 certification
- Experience with industrial pretreatment program development and enforcement
- Valid driver’s license

Work Environment
This is a hybrid position based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, requiring regular time in the office. Remote flexibility is available following onboarding, based on experience and performance.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
