Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to join their field operations team.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on field engineering position responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of complex electromechanical systems. You will act as a technical authority on-site, supporting both customers and internal teams while leading critical service activities in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Technical Leadership
- Lead installation, commissioning, testing, and calibration of electromechanical systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
- Carry out mechanical adjustments, alignments, and component replacements
- Act as an escalation point for critical field issues and downtime events
- Mentor and support Field Engineers and Technicians on-site
- Promote and uphold strong safety standards and practices
Systems Integration
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and industrial automation systems
- Interpret and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Collaborate with engineering and software teams to resolve cross-functional issues
- Support system upgrades, retrofits, and performance improvements
Maintenance & Optimisation
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment
- Inspect and maintain components such as motors, bearings, belts, and gear systems
- Optimise system performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Accurately document service activities, repairs, and technical findings
Customer Engagement
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers on-site
- Deliver technical training and guidance to customer teams
- Produce detailed service reports, diagnostics, and recommendations
- Support pre-sales activities and technical solution discussions when required
About You
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 8 years of field service experience with complex industrial systems
- Strong expertise in motors, drives, rotating equipment, and control systems
- Proven experience with PLCs, automation, and industrial environments
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capability using industry-standard tools
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experience working in safety-critical or regulated environments
- Willingness to travel extensively and work independently in field conditions
Desirable Skills
- Experience with robotics, CNC machinery, or high-precision equipment
- Exposure to medium/high voltage systems or rewinds
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC, OSHA, NFPA)
