About the Role
We are seeking a Mainframe Operator who will also function as a Level 1 Incident Manager, responsible for monitoring, triaging, and resolving critical IT incidents. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor mainframe control consoles and ensure optimal system performance
- Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events
- Create, escalate, triage, and track technology-related incidents
- Collaborate with IT teams, customers, and vendors for issue resolution
- Utilize monitoring tools to track infrastructure, connectivity, and service availability
- Assist in review and validation of mainframe Job Control Language (JCL)
- Perform assigned operational and delivery tasks
- Work in rotational shifts, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe systems
Required Skills
- Strong experience with monitoring tools such as What’s Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
- Knowledge of incident management processes and tools
- Basic understanding of JCL (Job Control Language)
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working onsite (no remote option)
- Flexible to work 24/7 shifts, including holidays
