Commercial Drywall & Painting Estimator
Location: Birmingham, AL
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall & Painting Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and managing the preconstruction process for commercial projects including multifamily, hospitality, senior living, and student housing developments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Estimate drywall, metal stud framing, insulation, ACT ceilings, and painting scopes.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Review plans, identify scope gaps, exclusions, and project risks.
- Support procurement and project buyout after award.
- Coordinate with General Contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial drywall or Division 9 estimating experience.
- Experience with multifamily, hotel, senior living, or commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, insulation, ACT ceilings, and painting.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, OST, QuickBid, or similar estimating software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
