Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our automotive manufacturing team in Flint, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of maintenance experience in an automotive manufacturing environment and possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production equipment while supporting preventative maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment uptime and production efficiency.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment
- Support equipment launch activities and production startups
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance
- Respond quickly to production line maintenance calls
- Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
- Maintain Allen-Bradley and Siemens Step 7 controlled equipment
- Perform equipment adjustments and repairs to minimize downtime
- Monitor machinery performance and recommend continuous improvements
- Complete daily downtime reports and maintenance documentation
- Maintain spare parts inventory
- Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and Layered Process Audits (LPAs)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with production teams
- Support overtime and flexible scheduling as needed
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of Maintenance Technician experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (Required)
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
- Technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or Fabrication
- Experience with:
- Allen-Bradley PLCs
