Overview
A growing food processing company is seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of harvesting, transportation, and processing equipment. This position involves a combination of shop-based repairs and field service work to ensure equipment performance throughout the harvest season.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds.
- Support harvesting operations by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
- Repair and rebuild pumps, conveyors, drive systems, and related components.
- Operate shop equipment including welding machines, lathes, mills, and fabrication tools.
- Maintain service records and assist with equipment maintenance planning.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure harvest equipment readiness.
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining agricultural, heavy equipment, diesel, industrial, or construction machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, diesel engines, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to perform mechanical rebuilds and preventive maintenance.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
Work Schedule
- Standard day shift outside of harvest season.
- Flexible schedule required during harvest, including rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime based on production needs.
