Being already well established across 15 market sectors, they are investing heavily into their aviation group, in the view of bolstering their $6B backlog of projects within the sector. THE POSITION:
My client are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator/Director of Preconstruction with 15 years of experience to assist in the company's continued growth. They are seeking an ambitious leader who can take ownership of preconstruction on $500M projects, and grow into a divisional preconstruction executive role in the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a team focused on preparing competitive proposals and securing new project opportunities
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with both internal teams and external partners
- Work alongside estimating teams to define and continuously refine project scopes
- Collaborate with operations and client-facing teams to ensure alignment and consistency in service delivery
- Support the growth and development of team members through coaching and mentorship
- Encourage collaboration across functions including operations, planning, digital teams, design, and marketing
- Partner with internal departments to maximize the effective use of tools and processes
- Drive ongoing improvements and manage change initiatives within the function
- Contribute to strategic decisions on pursuing new business opportunities
- Monitor and manage prequalification activities and track progress of partner engagements
- Ensure appropriate staffing approaches are defined and followed for project requirements
- Review and oversee bid-related documentation, including forms and compliance requirements
- Prepare and manage proposals related to early-stage project services
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and selection processes
- Support the preparation and finalization of partner agreements in line with internal standards
- Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the procurement and award stages
- Promote and model company values in all interactions
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, construction, architecture, or a related field
- Extensive experience (typically 15 years) across estimating, procurement, or project delivery
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities
- A team-oriented leadership approach with a focus on collaboration
- Solid technical understanding of construction practices; experience with complex facilities is advantageous
- Awareness of industry trends and ability to support competitive positioning
- Broad experience in preconstruction activities, including planning, resourcing, and risk evaluation
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations is beneficial
- Familiarity with integrated or design-build delivery methods is an advantage
Salary : $200,000 - $300,000
