CT Scan Technologist – Contract
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Days Off: Friday & Saturday
Hours: 40 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist to perform CT imaging procedures in a hospital/clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have CT experience, ARRT certification, NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License, AHA BLS, and strong knowledge of CT equipment, protocols, PACS, contrast administration, and patient care.
Required Qualifications
- CT Technologist experience
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- High School Diploma/GED
- NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
- ARRT R.T.(R) certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning
- Strong knowledge of CT equipment, software, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of PACS
- Ability to perform complex CT procedures
- Experience with contrast administration, venipuncture, and IV procedures
- Ability to review patient history, prescriptions, and CT protocols
- Ability to work scheduled shifts and participate in required coverage
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT R.T.(CT) certification preferred
- Minimum 6 months of CT experience preferred
- EPIC experience
- HIS/RIS experience
- Maintains required CEU credits
Certification Requirement: Candidates who do not already hold ARRT (CT) certification are expected to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures and produce diagnostic sectional/3D images
- Prepare and position patients for CT examinations
- Review patient clinical history, prescriptions, and CT protocols
- Follow established CT protocols and coordinate with Radiologists/Referring Physicians when clarification is needed
- Administer contrast media as prescribed
- Perform venipuncture and maintain IV access
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Review images through PACS for quality and completeness
- Coordinate outside studies/CDs and ensure availability in PACS
- Provide patient instructions and address patient concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC/PACS
- Provide care to patients across different age groups and populations
- Participate in overtime, holiday, weekend, and on-call coverage as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
- Ability to push/pull at least 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day
Submission Requirements
- CT Technologist experience
- ARRT (R) certification
