Travel RN – Surg/Ortho
Location: Pikeville, KY
Contract: 8 weeks
Hours: 48 hrs/week
Shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Job Summary:
Seeking experienced Travel Registered Nurses – Surg/Ortho to provide direct nursing care to surgical and orthopedic patients.
The RN will assess and monitor patients, administer medications and treatments, provide postoperative care, document clinical information, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to surgical and orthopedic patients.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
- Monitor patient condition and identify changes requiring intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Provide postoperative nursing care.
- Monitor pain, wounds, mobility, and recovery needs as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Communicate patient changes to physicians and healthcare team members.
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning.
- Follow hospital safety and infection-control procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Active unencumbered Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license.
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience.
- Surg/Ortho nursing experience.
- Must be willing to work 48 hours/week.
- Must be available for 12-hour day or night shifts.
- Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays.
- Current certifications applicable to the assignment.
- EMR experience such as EPIC, Meditech, or other systems.
- Complete travel assignment history required.
Compliance Requirements
- Active, unencumbered KY RN or Compact RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, or other certifications required for the assignment.
- BSN/ADN or applicable nursing education verification.
- Background check and facility credentialing.
- Drug screening, if required.
- Required health/immunization/occupational-health documentation.
- Disclosure of any nursing license infractions.
- Nursys report and supporting details if applicable.
- All requested time off must be disclosed before submission.
- Verification of completed travel assignments or explanation of incomplete assignments.
