Job Title: Project Engineer
Duration: Initial 2-year assignment with potential for extension and conversion to permanent employment
Location: Los Alamos, NM
Short Summary about Job:
HukariAscendent is seeking Project Engineers focused on the fabrication, renovation, and procurement of equipment supporting the PIT mission.
In this role you will act as a project engineer managing the engineering function, supporting the mission managing scope, and collaborating with a procurement engineer and a cross-functional team of experts and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering — Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Biological disciplines preferred; Civil engineering does not translate well to this work
- Minimum 3–4 years of progressive engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage engineering scope and coordinate across multi-disciplinary project teams
- Strong team collaboration skills; comfortable working with experts, vendors, and leadership at all levels
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities in a complex technical environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain Q-level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and MS Teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Glovebox systems experience — significant plus; top priority for this team
- Nuclear facility experience (DOE, DOD, Navy nuclear, or commercial nuclear power)
- Mechanical and/or HVAC experience — top-priority skill set for this team
