Job Title: Work Control Planner IV
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Location: On-Site – Northern New Mexico
Short Summary about Job:
This Work Control Planner IV role develops and reviews work packages — including time, material, and labor estimates, step-by-step work instructions, and safety/testing requirements — for the implementation, maintenance, and modification of unique and/or complex mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological systems within a national laboratory facility. This is a senior-level planning position requiring broad technical judgment and the ability to self-supervise, with regular contact with maintenance/operations management, engineers, and technicians.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation; post-graduate coursework may be expected at this level.
- Unique knowledge of and broad experience with complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures in complex facilities.
- In-depth understanding of and ability to interpret complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system to maintain and track work-planning activities.
- Ability to self-supervise with minimal day-to-day direction.
- Active DOE Q clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending resolutions to complex work control and planning problems.
- Demonstrated exceptional skill in preparing and presenting work control reports to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Extensive knowledge of facility-specific work control policies, practices, and procedures, along with the legal and environmental requirements affecting work control and planning.

- DOE Q Clearance is required for this position; A-Level access is not required.

- Willingness to travel for long- or short-term assignments may be required.
