Job Title: Work Control Planner 4
Duration: Regular/Full-Time
Location: Los Alamos, NM (Onsite)
Short Summary about Job:
Work Control is a multidisciplinary group providing deployed support to all Facility Operations Directorates (FODs) for maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS support. The Work Control Planner 4 will develop and review work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, and safety requirements for maintenance, construction, or modification work activities.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge & Expertise: Extensive experience interpreting mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Extensive knowledge of legal requirements, environmental impacts, work hazards, safety practices, and lock-out/tag-out policies in complex facilities.
- Planning & Prioritization: Unique knowledge and experience with work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance. Extensive experience conducting research, investigating alternatives, and recommending solutions. Ability to mentor and train less experienced work control personnel.
- Technology: Ability to utilize a computerized work management system to maintain and track work planning activities. Exceptional skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
- DOE Order 426.2 Minimum Requirements: High school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
- Experience in nuclear facility maintenance or construction planning.
- Active Q clearance.
Miscellaneous/Additional Information:
- Work location: Onsite in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
- Position commitment: 1 year of continuous service required before applying for other posted Laboratory jobs.
- Q clearance required. Selected applicants will be subject to a federal background investigation. US Citizenship required except in extremely rare circumstances.
- New-employment drug test required. Marijuana use and possession remain illegal under federal law; a positive marijuana test will result in termination.
