As a Non-CDL Box Truck Delivery Driver at Hartville Hardware Middlefield, you are a direct extension of our customer service team — just out on the road. You will deliver building materials, hardware, and lumber to residential homes, businesses, and active job sites, representing Hartville Hardware with professionalism and care at every stop.

- Operate company-owned delivery vehicles (box trucks or flatbeds) in compliance with all DOT regulations, including hours of service and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Safely load, unload, and secure materials on delivery trucks, ensuring items are properly transported
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to customer locations, including residential, business, and construction job sites
- Provide exceptional service during delivery — be professional, courteous, and attentive to customer needs
- Obtain customer signatures or other required documentation upon delivery
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery status and address any concerns in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate delivery records, confirmations, and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations regarding vehicle maintenance, inspection, and hours of service
- Report discrepancies or damaged items to the delivery manager immediately
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and load security
- Document and report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns to management
- Keep vehicles clean and organized for safe, efficient operation
- Adhere to all company safety policies and applicable DOT regulations, including proper material handling and required safety equipment
- Operate all delivery vehicles safely, following traffic laws and company guidelines at all times
- Assist in maintaining an organized and safe yard environment when not on deliveries
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — required
- Previous delivery experience preferred; familiarity with building materials or hardware products is helpful
- Knowledge of DOT regulations for non-CDL vehicles is a plus
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 75 lbs; ability to move heavier materials with appropriate equipment
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
