What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant - Manufacturing position at Hoxton Circle?
We’re partnering with a private equity-backed materials production company on the search for a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team.
The business has recently made a significant investment into expanding its US operations and is now in active production, creating a great opportunity to join at an important stage of its growth. This is a hands-on role with exposure to both traditional corporate accounting and the operational side of a complex manufacturing environment.
You’ll play a key role in the monthly close and financial reporting process while working closely with leadership to understand production costs, inventory and overall business performance. For someone who enjoys being close to the operations rather than sitting in a purely corporate accounting environment, there’s a lot to get involved in here.
What you’ll be doing:
- Play a key role in the monthly close and preparation of financial statements
- Own journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other core general ledger activities
- Support accounting for inventory, WIP, fixed assets and other areas associated with a production environment
- Analyze manufacturing and operating costs, helping leadership understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support budgeting and forecasting through analysis of actual performance against expectations
- Take ownership of the company’s ERP from an accounting perspective and help improve how the system is utilized
- Support internal controls and ensure accounting processes remain accurate and scalable as operations grow
- Work closely with auditors and prepare supporting schedules and documentation
- Get involved in process improvements and other projects across the finance function as the company continues to scale
What we’re looking for:
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong hands-on experience across the general ledger, monthly close and financial statement preparation
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, construction, engineering or another operational environment with WIP accounting
- Solid understanding of inventory and cost accounting
- Strong ERP and Excel skills
- CPA or progress toward the CPA is preferred but not required
- Someone smart, hardworking and comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-moving environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and operational leadership
This is a great opportunity to join a growing, well-capitalized business where Finance sits close to the operations and you'll have the chance to make a visible impact as the company continues to scale.
