This is a full-time on-site role for a High School Physics Teacher at Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park High in Chicago, IL. The teacher will be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging physics lessons, creating and implementing effective lesson plans, and evaluating student performance. Additional duties include fostering critical thinking, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support student achievement.
- Expertise in Physics and Physics Education to effectively deliver subject matter knowledge.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Teaching to design and implement clear and engaging instructional activities.
- Strong foundational understanding of Mathematics to support physics concepts and problem-solving.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive learning environment and encouraging student participation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Education, or a related field; teaching certification in secondary education is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Experience teaching at the high school level, especially in a STEM-focused curriculum, is a plus.
