Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' conditions.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Skills
- First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience in group homes or assisted living settings is highly desirable.
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transfers.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
- Experience in home health or hospice care settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
