Caregiver

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including home, assisted living, nursing homes, and group homes. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or autism. Prior experience in home health, long-term care, or hospice is highly valued.

Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and observe patient conditions, including vital signs and overall health status
• Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
• Follow care plans meticulously to ensure personalized care delivery
• Document patient observations and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
• Support patients during medical procedures or appointments, ensuring comfort and safety during transfers or treatments

Qualifications

• Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
• Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are highly desirable; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities
• Strong observational skills for monitoring patient health and safety
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and family members
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
