Senior Manager, Total Rewards

Reports to: VP of Talent Status: Full-Time, Exempt Location: Remote

Who We Are:

We are a private-equity-backed, multi-brand operating platform in the vacation rental and hospitality services space. We partner with founder-led and operator-driven businesses across the U.S. to help them scale while preserving what makes them great locally.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Director of Total Rewards to design and lead our compensation, benefits, and rewards strategy. This is a foundational role reporting to the VP of Talent and working closely with the executive team to build the programs that enable our people strategy and support long-term value creation.

Approximately 50% of this role is focused on compensation design and administration — establishing market-aligned pay bands, supporting our Management Incentive Plan (MIP), and building the analytical foundation for enterprise-wide pay decisions. The balance of the role spans benefits strategy and administration, bonus program oversight, and talent analytics that inform people planning and investment decisions.

This is not a maintenance role. You will build programs from the ground up, introduce structure where there is ambiguity, and operate as a true strategic partner to HR and the business. If you thrive on building in a high-growth, PE-backed environment and are energized by using data to drive decisions, this is your opportunity.

What You’ll Do

Compensation Strategy & Management

  • Build and scale a comprehensive compensation framework, including market-aligned salary bands across all roles and levels.

  • Lead the annual compensation cycle, including merit increases, market adjustments, and off-cycle actions.

  • Conduct ongoing market benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices across a distributed workforce.

  • Partner with senior leadership to shape compensation strategies that support hiring, retention, and internal equity.

  • Develop and maintain job architecture, leveling frameworks, and classification standards.

  • Advise managers and HR partners on offer strategy, pay positioning, and equity considerations.

Incentives & Total Rewards

  • Own the design and administration of incentive programs, including the Management Incentive Plan.

  • Develop short-term incentive programs tied to individual and business performance.

  • Support long-term incentive planning in partnership with executives and investors.

  • Ensure total rewards programs are competitive, fair, and aligned with a performance-driven culture.

  • Create clear tools and communications to help employees understand the full value of their compensation.

Benefits & Wellbeing

  • Lead benefits strategy, including vendor selection and program design across health, retirement, and insurance offerings.

  • Manage open enrollment from planning through execution.

  • Evaluate and enhance leave programs to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

  • Oversee benefits administration and partner with HR teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Analyze cost and usage trends to inform plan improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

People Analytics & Insights

  • Build analytics capabilities to generate insights on pay equity, retention, and workforce planning.

  • Deliver executive-level reporting on compensation, benefits, and headcount trends.

  • Partner with Finance on workforce planning, cost modeling, and forecasting.

  • Conduct surveys, pay equity analyses, and segmentation studies to inform decision-making.

  • Support M&A efforts by assessing and integrating total rewards programs.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Background

  • 8 years of experience in total rewards, with strong expertise in both compensation and benefits.

  • Proven experience designing or transforming compensation structures and incentive programs.

  • Experience working in multi-site, field-based, or high-growth environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated ownership of total rewards strategy in lean or scaling organizations.

  • Experience with executive compensation or investor-backed environments is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications such as CCP or CBP are preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of compensation benchmarking and survey tools.
