About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to join our operation in Greenville, SC. In this role, you will support the development of new products and processes, design and redesign components to improve performance and profitability, and work closely with the Operations team to drive efficiency and maximize uptime on the manufacturing floor.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed drawings, procedures, and technical sketches to support daily manufacturing operations, new product development, and process improvements.
- Create and refine clear, user-friendly work instructions to ensure strong operator understanding and engagement.
- Define quality standards and design testing methods to ensure products consistently meet specifications.
- Evaluate and estimate production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Optimize manufacturing workflows by analyzing layouts, equipment placement, and space utilization.
- Research and recommend new materials, technologies, and processes, considering factors such as chemical compatibility, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency, including fabrication, plastic welding, coated fabric conversion, material handling, and automation.
- Partner with engineering teams to plan and execute tests, document findings, and prepare reports for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Contribute to value analysis and value engineering activities, as well as continuous improvement initiatives, to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, preferably within a small to mid-sized organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic or practical experience in production or process engineering
- Familiarity with fabrication processes such as automated forming equipment, welding systems, or blanking lines, including programming and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Background in cost optimization, quality improvement, or new product or process implementation.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
