Director of Procurement
Overview
We are seeking a strategic and operationally-minded procurement leader to build and scale a centralized procurement function across a fast-growing, multi-brand portfolio in the vacation rental and hospitality sector. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on profitability, spend governance, and supplier strategy across 50 brands and a $200M spend base.
The ideal candidate will combine deep procurement expertise with a collaborative mindset — helping operators save money and access better terms without adding friction to their day-to-day business.
Primary Objectives
- Deliver more than $7M in annualized savings and achieve approximately 82% of spend under procurement management within three years.
- Build a scalable procurement function to support a $200M spend base across 50 brands.
- Drive standardization, supplier optimization, and disciplined processes within a decentralized operating model.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Relationships & Strategy
- Develop and manage strategic supplier partnerships to improve quality, innovation, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Establish preferred supplier programs and collaborate with operators to align demand and purchasing strategies.
- Lead end-to-end RFP and RFQ processes and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs) to reduce costs, extend payment terms, and secure volume-based incentives.
- Create and maintain procurement playbooks for recurring spend categories such as linens, housekeeping supplies, payment processing, insurance, and software subscriptions.
Procurement Technology & Analytics
- Build deep expertise in existing tools such as NetSuite and Ramp, and evaluate additional procurement technologies as needed.
- Consolidate and analyze spend data across 50 brands to identify savings opportunities and optimize the vendor base.
- Develop dashboards to track key metrics, including top vendors by spend, realized versus projected savings, and upcoming contract renewals.
- Monitor the savings pipeline and report procurement contributions to EBITDA and overall value creation initiatives.
Vendor & Contract Visibility
- Establish and maintain a centralized repository of enterprise and brand-level vendor contracts, including renewal timelines and ownership.
- Maintain a continuously updated database of vendor usage across brands and locations, including user access and contract terms.
- Conduct regular audits of vendor spend to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Manage and optimize a portfolio of preferred vendors accessible across all brands.
G&A Spend Management
- Act as a strategic business partner to develop and implement category strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Influence and manage key spend categories including IT, professional services, marketing, corporate insurance, and HR.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive total cost of ownership improvements across categories.
- Enable operational leaders to access preferred pricing and standardized solutions without introducing unnecessary complexity.
M&A Integration
- Partner with the M&A team to integrate newly acquired businesses into enterprise vendor programs and agreements.
- Standardize vendor onboarding processes to ensure immediate access to negotiated pricing and terms post-acquisition.
- Support due diligence efforts by identifying vendor overlaps, cost-saving opportunities, and contract risks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
- Build strong relationships with general managers and functional leaders by delivering cost savings while respecting operational autonomy.
- Provide training, tools, and communication strategies to drive adoption of procurement programs across a decentralized organization.
- Act as the primary representative of procurement, balancing flexibility at the brand level with enterprise-wide efficiencies.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt standardized practices that improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
Candidate Profile
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Proven success in negotiating MSAs, volume agreements, and vendor consolidation initiatives.
- Experience working within multi-brand, decentralized, or franchise-style business models is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with procurement platforms such as NetSuite, Ramp, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical skills with experience building dashboards, tracking savings, and performing category analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change without direct authority.
- Experience supporting M&A integration and working in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus.
