Property Accountant
Commercial Real Estate Investment & Management
Location: Long Island, NY (On-Site)
Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000
The Opportunity
A highly regarded commercial real estate firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support a portfolio of office and retail assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties (office & retail)
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including supporting schedules
- Manage month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries
- Perform and supervise CAM reconciliations and operating expense recoveries
- Prepare and review tenant billings, ensuring accuracy across all assigned properties
- Monitor cash balances, reserves, and overall property-level financial performance
- Partner with property management teams to ensure accurate reporting and variance analysis
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including revenue and expense projections
- Review lease agreements and amendments to validate rent schedules and escalations
- Act as a key point of contact for ownership and external tax/accounting partners
- Support lease administration, including tenant set-up and billing within property systems
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience (real estate preferred)
- Exposure to commercial real estate accounting (office/retail a plus)
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems is advantageous
- Public accounting background beneficial but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work cross-functionally
