About the Role
The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy mobile equipment to support quarry and plant operations. This role involves transporting materials, conducting equipment inspections, performing routine maintenance activities, and maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate haul trucks and other heavy mobile equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Transport materials to designated locations while maintaining safe operating speeds and following all site traffic controls.
- Conduct pre-operational and post-operational equipment inspections and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and opportunities for safety improvement.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic servicing activities to ensure equipment remains in operational condition.
- Assist with plant maintenance, housekeeping, and site cleanup activities as required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience operating haul trucks, heavy equipment, or similar industrial machinery.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and safety awareness skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in quarry, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The role may require standing, walking, climbing, and operating equipment for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with site safety requirements.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays may be required based on business needs.
