Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s physical structure and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for guests and team members. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to guest requests for repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring all work complies with safety and brand standards. The technician plays a key role in delivering the reliable and efficient service that Home2 Suites is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, guest rooms, and common areas (e.g., HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, appliances).
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest service requests related to maintenance or repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
- Monitor and maintain the appearance and functionality of public areas and exterior grounds.
- Assist with property improvement projects, renovations, or upgrades as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and building codes.
- Report major repair needs or unsafe conditions to management.
- Maintain an organized maintenance workshop and manage inventory of tools and supplies.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and front desk to minimize guest disruption.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous hotel or facility maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, MSDS, and general maintenance tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods.
- Lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
