Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role at Claw & Hammer, based in Newport, RI. The Executive Chef will oversee kitchen operations, plan and execute innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Additional responsibilities include managing kitchen staff, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, controlling inventory and food costs, and collaborating with management to enhance the restaurant’s offerings. The role requires leadership, attention to detail, and creativity to preserve the culinary vision and legacy of the restaurant.
Qualifications
- Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, recipe creation, and menu development.
- Operational Leadership: Experience in kitchen management, staff training, inventory control, and budgeting.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Understanding of food handling standards, compliance with health regulations, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Creativity and Passion: Ability to design innovative menus while honoring traditional recipes and flavors.
- Strong Communication: Effective team communication and ability to collaborate with staff and management.
- Problem-solving Skills: Capacity to troubleshoot and handle challenges in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
