Barback

The Mews Tavern is hiring barbacks for our Tavern and Pub bars. If you're looking to break into the restaurant industry, there's no better place to start than the Mews Tavern, located in the heart of Wakefield, RI, right near URI. We're a busy, fast-paced establishment, and we're looking for people who enjoy working with others and thrive in a lively environment. Prior barback experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right candidate.

Barback Duties

• Check IDs.

• Help resolve conflicts with problem guests.

• Help ensure the safety of coworkers and guests.

• Keep the bar clean and sanitary.

• Stay flexible and adjust duties as needed to support the team.

• Clean, sweep, and mop the bar at the end of the night.

• Stock and clean the bathrooms.

• Take out trash and recycling at the end of the night.

• Bus tables and keep the bar area stocked.

• Pour beers when necessary.

• Change and haul out kegs.

• Handle light cleaning duties as assigned by a manager or bartender.

• Support the bar staff in any way needed to help the team succeed.

Shifts typically start between 4:30–6:00 PM and end between 10:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Pay & Perks

• This is a tipped position, with pay ranging from $18–$25 per hour.

Weekend availability (Friday–Sunday) is required.
