Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic procedures, including X-ray and CT scans, per physician orders
- Properly position and shield patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate imaging equipment and adjust exposure factors as needed; maintain image quality and patient safety
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles; monitor equipment for proper function
- Verify patient identity and orders; document procedures and preliminary findings as required
- Communicate with radiologists and care team; provide patient education and reassurance as needed
Requirements
- Illinois Radiologic Technologist license
- Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
- CPR certification
- Ability to read, communicate effectively in English, and use basic computer systems
- Basic math skills; ability to operate imaging equipment and document results accurately
Education and Certifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
