Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures using established protocols and safety guidelines per department and ACR standards
• Screen patients for contraindications, follow safety requirements around the MRI environment, and request removal of hazardous metal objects
• Explain MRI procedures to patients, address concerns with tact and professionalism, and ensure patient comfort and confidentiality
• Monitor patients visually and verbally during imaging, maintaining safety and safety-related communication with the team
• Operate MRI equipment and related devices, assist with protocol selection and updates, and help maintain equipment status and cleanliness
  
  

Requirements

• ARRT registered (MRI) with current standing
• BCLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire
• Education: Associate degree or Certificate from a two-year radiologic technology program
• Experience: MRI technologist experience preferred
• Influenza vaccination required by Maine state regulations unless a medical exemption is provided and approved
• Ability to work in a hospital setting and adhere to safety and patient-care standards
