Responsibilities

• Lead surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs); monitor reportable conditions and ensure timely CMS/NHSN reporting
• Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control policies and procedures aligned with CDC, OSHA, CMS, TJC, APIC guidelines
• Collect and trend infection data; prepare statistical reports and support performance improvement, risk management, and related initiatives
• Educate staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention; provide new-employee IPC orientation and ongoing training across sites
• Collaborate with the Performance Improvement team; co-chair the IPC committee; participate in cross-training and travel to sites as needed
• Respond to outbreaks or outbreaks-like events; assist in planning and implementing containment and mitigation strategies; perform risk assessments as required
  
  

Requirements

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) current
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of acute care infection control experience and/or data collection and performance improvement/risk management experience
• Experience with basic statistics and epidemiological principles
• Ability to travel to multiple sites within the health system and work effectively in a hospital environment
