Position Summary
The Crane Business Commercial and Business Development Manager is responsible for leading contract negotiation and management, managing commercial proposal activities, and driving MRO business development within the crane services business in the United States. This role integrates contract and commercial functions with subcontractor management and new business development to optimize revenue, profitability, and fleet utilization.
Contract & Commercial Proposal and Review (30%)
- Review and manage all commercial proposals, bids, and contract terms
- Ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability of pricing structures
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners
- Evaluate project margin, risk exposure, and commercial feasibility
- Support bid strategy development and internal approval processes
- Ensure alignment between contract terms and operational execution capability
- Develop annual and mid-term business plans for crane operations
- Conduct market, competitor, and pricing analysis
- Support revenue forecasting and demand planning
- Analyze profitability by customer, project, and fleet utilization
- Provide strategic insights to support executive decision-making
- Develop and support MRO strategy to ensure fleet reliability and availability
- Manage contact, relationships, and performance of subcontractors
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize repair scheduling and cost efficiency
- Monitor maintenance cost structure, vendor performance, and turnaround time
- Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning for equipment lifecycle management
- Align maintenance priorities with commercial and operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction, energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors
- Build and maintain strategic client relationships
- Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and project wins
- Represent the company in client meetings, bids, and industry events
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management
- Support cross-functional initiatives including safety, HR, finance, and asset management
- Assist in reporting, executive presentations, and internal business reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry safety regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10 years of experience in crane industry, heavy equipment, construction, industrial services, or MRO-related operations
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, commercial proposal review, and business development
- Experience with equipment maintenance planning or asset management strongly preferred
- Strong financial acumen (pricing, margin analysis, P&L understanding)
- Experience in strategic planning highly preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in both English and Korean
- Experience in a multinational company is preferred
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated at a desk) for extended periods while performing office-based work.
- Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing.
- Ability to read, review, and analyze information presented on screens and in printed materials.
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift light office materials or equipment (up to 20 pounds).
- Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform job-related tasks in a typical office and meeting environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional business environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with travel requirements of up to approximately 25%.
